Yoga with Pets; is this a good idea?

If you haven’t personally experienced it, you’ve likely heard about it; yoga with pets.  Goat yoga was popular for a while, then horse yoga was all the rage, and now yogis and students alike are including their cats and dogs. Does having your furry friend joining you on the mat benefit or inhibit your practice? Ultimately, that’s up to you, but let’s give it some thought.

Maiden Newton- a cozy village in the English countryside.

Maiden Newton is a sleepy village in Dorset County England. Chances are you’ve never heard of Maiden Newton, neither had I untilI I ended up there on a family holiday. Dad always had a knack for planning the most amazing family trips, he wasn’t the type who visited the popular tourist destinations, in fact, he was quite the opposite. When he let us know that the family will be meeting in Maiden Newton for a holiday, I was immediately intrigued.  If you want to visit England but skip the fluffy tourist areas, Maiden Newton is the place for you.

Are you looking for an unforgettable family adventure? Are you itching to create some amazing post-Covid memories? Look no further, the Black Canyon section of the Colorado River has it all.  This adventure combines paddling, hiking, hot springs and camping!  And what’s more, logistically it’s pretty easy to plan and execute. Here’s some information to get you started.

How to make your partner’s first camping trip memorable.

So you have a new partner who wants to go camping with you, sounds romantic doesn’t it. Camping out seems lovely until you have to deal with the cold, or the bugs, or the bathrooms (or lack thereof) or the dirt and discomfort that goes along with any camping escapade. It’s vital that your partner has an enjoyable experience because otherwise they may not want to join you again. Not all inaugural trips turn out to be the romantic wilderness getaway we plan, but here are some tried and true tips to help make it amazing.

The Green Yogi

Have you ever wanted to add yoga to your holistic toolbox but felt as if you didn’t know where to start? Have you ever taken an intro class and it seems like everyone else has been practicing for decades? For me, yoga was both fascinating and intimidating. I was intrigued by all the poses and did a lot of research on the physical and mental benefits of practicing yoga. It wasn’t until I got past the whole “I’m not flexible enough” mindset that I was able to fully embrace the mind body yoga experience and gain the strength and flexibility that was appropriate for my body. How did I do this you ask?  It’s more of a mental than a physical process, I’ll explain.

On Gratitude

It didn’t take long for me to see the positive results of consciously practicing gratitude.  In fact, I was surprised at how easy the shift in thinking was for me. I can explain how and why in a way that makes sense.

McDowell by William H. Coles- Book Review

I love this book! McDowell By William H. Coles is one of those books you just can’t put down. This novel is so well written that you’ll be saying “I see what he did there!” The story of a man so consumed with money, power and social status that he can’t seem to understand why bad things happen to him.
